Good on you. We just ordered and received the Strengths Based Leadership books for all our employees so they could undertake Strengths Finder and now we see that we can go direct without the book! Even though we could have saved some money had we waited until now, its ok - our staff will always have the book as a resource now and your decision today will help us to promote Strengths Finder here in Australia to those with far less resources than us.

On the website you say:
"If you have taken the Clifton StrengthsFinder assessment before and want to use those results, you will need to know the username and password (or access code) from the site where you took the assessment."
Does that mean the "Strengths Development Package" is only available to people who have taken the Clifton StrengthsFinder (version 1, that came with 'Now, Discover Your Strengths,' or is available to people who have taken StrengthsFinder 2.0?
The website doesn't make that clear. An FAQ entry about that (or something) might help out with that.

This can be very important to so many people.
Decades ago, as a part of a national search process for a college presidency, I got to take advantage of your earlier, I assume very similar service via what then was called SRI Gallup. At that time the method was through a series of personal interviews. The institution's governing board used your service to help identify the strengths of its best candidate. In fact, as the successful appointee, I was invited to go several steps further with SRI in personal review with a talented professional evaluator.
I have used the results of those experiences throughout my career, applying your service to my top administrative colleagues in those days. What you are offering here and now is such a value at such a bargain price that I assume you will be flooded with clients. Each of them will be happy to have made that decision. Knowing one's strengths provides a powerful advantage.
You may want to re-consider the pricing. The price of the book is about the same, and having a book handy would always be a better choice. That probably dissuades online-only test takers.
Also, it may help offering a group discount for companies buying in bulk - say 20 licenses for their employees. Would you consider this?

For your interest, we're actually mapping strengths required for each role in our (software services) company and mapping that to strengths of our people -- thus (hopefully) helping us getting the right people on the right job.
We're doing this with our training company - www.ciam.in which has introduced Strenghts Finder as a key tool in our Organisation Design exercise.

This is a great move. This will enable Strengths to truly come into the mainstream and be transformational for individuals and organizations across the world who did not have full access to Strengths in the past. Thank you for this bold leadership move.
You'd get a lot more upsell on that $89 package if you had an affiliate program that gave coaches an incentive to spend the extra time explaining its benefits over the 5-theme report.
This is fantastic! The StrengthsFinder has become the first step in just about everything I do with executives. I'm happy to know there's now a simpler path than directing career coaching clients to another website to buy the ebook and then having them return to StrengthsFinder.com, etc. I'm also interested in trying out the enhanced report myself.

I've been unofficially coaching people on their strengths since 2002 but have never had certification to do so. I've worked in higher education since 2000 and would like to spend more professional time helping people affirm, develop, and apply their strengths.
What should be my next step?

Could you provide more information on how to become a certified Strength Coach? This has been a long tern goal of mine. Is it possible to be a certified Coach if your organization does not have a contract with Gallup?

@ Anonymous, thank you for your interest in becoming a coach! We are still developing the final criteria for certification, however the first step will definitely be completing our coach training courses.
The Courses
Online registration for our 2013 coach training courses is now open at https://www.gallupstrengthscenter.com/Purchase/Courses. We are offering 3 courses that are 2-days each priced at $2900 per class. We have also created an “accelerated” $7500 4 ½ -day course. All classes will take place in Omaha, Nebraska.
The three 2-day classes are:
• Successful Strengths Coaching
• Coaching for Individual Performance (Must complete “Successful Strengths Coaching” before attending)
• Coaching Managers & Teams (Must complete “Successful Strengths Coaching” before attending)
The “Accelerated” 4 ½ day course combines the materials from all three courses.
Criteria for becoming a certified, accredited Gallup Strengths coach is still under review. It has not yet been determined whether two or three of the 2-day courses will be required for certification. Other steps will include passing a test, evaluations by your clients, and other such components.
